Dr. Sarika Gaikhe

PT, DPT, MS, CLT-LANA, CWT, PHPT

For over 15 years, my journey as a physical therapist has spanned from the vibrant communities of India to the healthcare systems of Michigan, Illinois, Texas, and finally here to North Carolina. My professional foundation began with a Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy in India, which inspired my move to the United States in 2009 to pursue the highest standards of clinical excellence. This path led me to earn a Master of Science in Exercise Science from Oakland University, MI and ultimately my Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Utica College, NY. Fueled by a lifelong curiosity, I expanded my expertise through post-doctoral certifications in Lymphedema management via the Academy of Lymphatic Studies (ACOLS) and Pelvic Health through the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).

Throughout this evolution, my perspective shifted profoundly. I realized that focusing solely on “fixing” isolated symptoms often ignored the body’s incredible capacity for integrated healing. Many of my patients continued to struggle with discomfort that traditional methods could not quite resolve, which led me back to the true foundation of our vitality: The pelvic floor. I became captivated by the mind-body connection centered within pelvic health, yet I was heartened—and often heartbroken—by how frequently these issues are dismissed. So many individuals, particularly those navigating the changes of postpartum life or aging, have been led to believe their symptoms are “just normal” or feel too overwhelmed by stigma to speak up.

I founded Aura Pelvic Therapy to be the answer to that silence. My mission is to provide a dedicated space where you are heard, understood, and never rushed. Within this sanctuary, you can discuss your most personal concerns without shame or embarrassment. My goal is to move beyond simple treatment; I want to educate and empower you, replacing vulnerability with confidence and barriers with strength. Whether I am working one-on-one with a patient or exploring a national park trail with my family, I carry that same passion for movement and life. I am here to help you reclaim your body. You deserve to live a happy, healthy life without limits – —because your health is a priority, not a luxury.

For over 15 years, my journey as a physical therapist has taken me from the vibrant communities of India to diverse healthcare settings in Michigan, Illinois, Texas, and now North Carolina. My professional foundation began with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in India, which inspired me to move to the United States in 2009 in pursuit of the highest standards of clinical excellence. I went on to earn a Master’s in Exercise Science from Oakland University in Michigan and later a Doctor of Physical Therapy from Utica University in New York.

Driven by a lifelong curiosity, I expanded my expertise through post-professional training in lymphedema management through the Academy of Lymphatic Studies (ACOLS) and pelvic health through the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). Over time, my perspective shifted profoundly. I came to understand that focusing solely on isolated symptoms often overlooks the body’s remarkable capacity for integrated healing. Many patients continued to struggle with discomfort that traditional approaches could not fully resolve, which led me back to a foundational area of health that is too often overlooked: the pelvic floor.

I became deeply drawn to the mind-body connection at the heart of pelvic health, and I was both encouraged and heartbroken by how often these concerns are dismissed. So many people, especially those navigating postpartum recovery or the changes of aging, are told their symptoms are “just normal” or feel too overwhelmed by stigma to speak up. I founded Aura Pelvic Therapy to answer that silence. My mission is to provide a dedicated space where you are heard, understood, and never rushed.

Within this space, you can discuss your most personal concerns without shame or embarrassment. My goal is to do more than treat symptoms — I want to educate and empower you, replacing vulnerability with confidence and barriers with strength. Whether I am working one-on-one with a patient or exploring a national park trail with my family, I carry the same passion for movement, connection, and living fully. I am here to help you reclaim your body. You deserve a healthy, fulfilling life without limits because your health is a priority, not a luxury.
